        "en": "At this point, the case seems open and shut, for, we have demonstrated, from the Doctor of Grace, that we are given true justice, truly ordering our soul towards God and body to the soul and elevating us to a true and proper participation in God and it is this justice that justifies us. Thus, it seems Trent is correct when stating that this justice that is given to us through Christ is the formal cause of our justification. Yet, it is not so easy. While, from this consideration, most Protestant authors are refuted, there are an important group of preTridentine Catholic and a few Protestant authors who, despite basically conceding what we have went over thus far, still disagree with the definition at Trent, famously, Cardinal Seripando, a superior general of the Augustinian order. These authors, considering the imperfection still present in our souls from concupiscence and venial sin, stated that, while we can be said to have true justice, this justice needed to be supplemented by a \"second justice,\" i.e., the imputation of the justice of Christ. This imputation was the root of the forgiveness of sins, and the true meritoriousness of our justice for eternal life (and of works as well).
