What's happening in the world today was causing me such distress as I was a Protestant and trying to figure out how could the church possibly have an impact on where the world was going, because it just seems to be hurling headlong to destruction.

And this was part of my journey into Catholicism was looking for truly, like, Noah's Ark, because as the Lord said, you know, As in the days of Noah, and that's what the world is beginning to look like now.

And in the days of Noah we had Noah's Ark.

And so for me, when I began to consider Catholicism, that is, that's what the church looked like.

It looked like a big, safe ship, a big ark, where I would be safe because it- it has not moved on these cultural issues of the sanctity of life, the sanctity of marriage, um, the gender identity issues which just have reached a point of almost insanity.

Um, these issues are destroying our culture and they are becoming frighteningly global, and so we need a global answer to these issues.

And to me the global a- answer is the Catholic Church.

The church is absolutely counter-cultural.

Um, you know, today's world tells you it's- it's all about me.

It's all about what I can get.

Um, whether that's from you as a human being or material things.

And, um, the church tells you, no, it's actually not all about you.

It's all about God and it's all about what you can give.

I know that the church is extremely counter-cultural because every time I go in public with all of my children, I hear, Oh my goodness.

Are all of those children yours?

And more often than not, it, they really aren't ugly comments.

They're inquisitive.

They've never run across a big family.

And the second thing that I always hear after Are all of those children yours?

is, Oh, you must be Catholic.

And that actually brings great joy to my heart knowing that people outside of the church also recognize the church.

They recognize for teachings and they see her as being willing to stand up for values that, um, that the world no longer even admits exist.

It comes across as counter-cultural but that is exactly what we need.

We need something that's counter-cultural because the culture is being flooded with evil.

There's no two ways about it.

Um, I know those who are currently living in that cultural, i- in that culture and feel like that is what they are, is the right way to live, of course they feel offended by the teachings of the church.

But the most loving thing we can do is, in addition to loving them, is to be honest and to bring them the truth, because the point will come where they will have to make a decision and it will have to be a decision between good and evil.

And if, and the church will be that safe place for them to go in that day of decision.
