I come from a background of Christians who had a very wonderful sense of Christ's humanity, that He really was human and that, uh, He, He knew us intimately and personally and He knew what it was like to be in our situation, and that was always very comforting and consoling to me.

But one of the things I hadn't really explored coming from that direction, that I came to explore after I became Catholic, began to understand more about Him, was the, the idea that Christ never lost His humanity.

That even after He rose from the dead and He ascended into Heaven, it's not like as He went up to Heaven 40,000 feet His human nature dropped off somehow.

He was still human, fully human, and He will always be human.

What an amazing thing that is to think about.

What a marvelous thing that Jesus went up to Heaven so that He could be seated again on the throne of the universe.

And now, the person who sits on the throne, the one who rules the universe, the one who makes the world go the way it needs to go, the one who has taken the world on this journey toward its destiny, is one of us.

He's one of us.

He knows what it's like to hurt.

He knows what it's like to be joyful.

He knows what it's like to sing and to dance and to have a mother, and to love children and take 'em into his arms.

The one who rules the universe now is one of us, and He always will be.

As I'm becoming Catholic and understanding the Catholic perspective on, on the faith, C- Jesus' humanity has become His incarnation has become I- it's almost become everything to me.

As long as we can keep J- the focus on Jesus in terms of His divinity, for me, it's sort of almost an excuse to hold Him off at arms length because He's divine and we're not.

And so, I can't be perfect like Jesus, because after all, He's God and I'm, and I'm not God.

And I can't be holy the way He's told us we're s- supposed to be, because I'm not divine and He was divine.

He is divine.

So once you begin to realize that Jesus truly was man and is man, you're confronted with His humanity in a way that makes you have to face, What am I going to do with Jesus, the man?

How am I going to relate to Jesus, the man?

The man who has come to me and said, 'Be holy as your Father in Heaven is holy.' That has just rocked my world and made me understand that the incarnation is everything.

Um, and one of the ways that I've been confronted with Jesus' human- humanity and become closer to it, is actually through praying the rosary.

Which most people who are not Catholic think, like I did, that the rosary was all prayers to Mary, repetitious prayers to Mary.

But actually, you ask Mary by her intercession, to take you to Jesus in the different mysteries of Jesus' life.

So you go with Jesus, you're at His baptism.

You're with Him as He's walking on the road to Calvary.

You're there near Him as He's on the cross.

You're, you're next to this man who's a human and divine.

And it's so profound that I wish I could find the perfect words to explain it, but, but this has had just an amazing impact on my life and I feel much closer to Jesus than I ever did before.

And I always felt very close to Him, from the time I was a little girl, so I'm very grateful for this.
